It’s the most foodiest time of the year. So, naturally, we’re all about how to serve maple at Thanksgiving! Spoiler alert: it involves turkey, nuts, and lots and lots and LOTS of pumpkin.
Maple at Thanksgiving most definately involves the bird. You can choose Maple Brined Turkey or Maple-Applejack Brined Turkey with Andouille Sausage. Or go for a different bird alltogether with a Smoked Maple Syrup Goose! Either way, don’t forget the Homemade Maple Cranberry Sauce!
Maple at Thanksgiving abounds in sides as well. Soup course? Try Miso-Maple Acorn Squash Soup or Vegan Pumpkin Soup with Candied Pecans. To get your greens in: Bright Fall Salad or Chopped Raddichio, Pear, Bacon and Walnut Salad. Forget that old casserole and try Tempura Green Beans with Sweet Ginger Dipping Sauce. Put a new twist on spuds with Hassleback Potatoes, Smoked Mashed Sweet Potatoes with Chipotle Maple Syrup or Maple Candied Sweet Potatoes.
And don’t even get us started on sprouts. Maple at Thanksgiving has those too: Maple-Roasted Brussels with Wild Rice, Roasted Maple-Bacon Brussel Sprouts and Sauteed Brussel Sprouts with Sweet-Tart-Salty Glaze.
And, in closing: maple at Thanksgiving most definately does dessert. With apples: Apple Blondies. With pears: Pear Gouda Galette and Maple Poached Pears. In bread form: Fig and Cacao Holiday Bread, Spicy Molasses and Maple Loaf, and Gingerbread Muffins with Maple-Cinnamon Glaze. With nuts: Maple Honey Pecan Pie. By itself: Salted Maple Pie.
