Maple continues to feel the online recipe love this month. Ready to refresh your cooking? Check out these new ways to eat maple.

In the morning, choose Citrus Cream Cheese Pancakes or Coconut and Peanut Butter Donuts and consider pairing with a Maple Veggie Smoothie.

For lunch, Grilled Veggie Kababs with Spiced Pistachio Milk, Frisée Salad with Poached Eggs and Maple Roasted Bacon, or Carrot Hummus with Cumin and Cilantro paired with a Chick Pea and Arugula Salad.

In the evening, start with a Bourbon Maple Fizz. Move on to Raspberry-Maple-Glazed Pork Tenderloin or Baked Meatball Casserole with Sweet Paprika Beans. Finish strong with Homemade Oat Milk Ice Cream or Vegan Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie à la Mode!

What a time to be a backyard!

It is a transition time for backyard birds, and some stunningly gorgeous new species are on their way to our feeders. Also stunning: the transformation of one Vermont man’s backyard five years after a beaver family arrived there. A new study suggests that we can grow all the protein we need right in our own backyards. And that’s without eating the thousands of cicadas we hope aren’t in yours! (Yes, they are edible.)

Finally, while this famous golfer was spotting UFOs in his backyard, this extraordinary couple was busy building a scale model of their small, Kansas hometown in theirs. We think that’s pretty sweet.
